About the Book
A thirteenth century castle, Château de Doux Rêves, has been forgotten for generations, left to ruin in a storybook forest nestled deep in France’s picturesque Loire Valley...
Ellie Carver arrives at her grandmother’s bedside expecting to find her silently slipping away. Instead, the beloved old woman begins speaking. Of a secret past and castle ruins forgotten by time. Of a hidden chapel that served as a rendezvous for the French resistance in World War II. Of lost love and deep regret . . .
Each piece that unlocks the story seems to unlock part of Ellie too—where she came from and who she is becoming. But her grandmother is quickly disappearing into the shadows of Alzheimer’s and Ellie must act fast if she wants to uncover the truth of her family’s history. Drawn by the mystery surrounding The Sleeping Beauty—a forgotten castle so named for Charles Perrault’s beloved fairy tale—Ellie embarks on a journey to France’s Loire Valley in hopes that she can unearth its secrets before time silences them forever.
Bridging the past to present in three time-periods—the French Revolution, World War II, and present day—The Lost Castle is a story of loves won and lost, of battles waged in the hearts of men, and an enchanted castle that stood witness to it all, inspiring a legacy of faith through the generations. My Thoughts
Where do I begin? There are so many emotions running rampant through my brain right now, I can't adequately express them all in words.
I have said it before, and I will say it again...Kristy Cambron has been a favorite of mine before I even read any of her books. Her words are filled with such LIFE and TRUTH that you can't help but feel surrounded by God's presence and filled with His love as you read. Whether this be a blog post, a book, or anything else.
With multiple timelines, the author keeps you on your toes as you jump from present day, to 1789 French Revolution, to the middle of WWII in 1944, and back again. Always centered around the lost castle in the Loire Valley. It is easy to keep track of where you are and the added dimension sheds light on the story in a new way.
Three courageous women, three swoon-worthy heroes, and a castle that binds them all together. I wish with all my heart that this whole story were real...To be able to look in my history book and see the names Vivay, Viola Hart, and Aveline Saint-Moreau staring back at me.
This is a story of Courage, of Love, of Passion, and of Faith. The Lost Castle has found a very special place in my heart, because this is a story that will change you.

I received a complimentary copy of The Lost Castle from the publishers. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
